Security Technician I

The Security Technician I is responsible for controlling access to the Aberdeen Test Center Restricted Area (RA) at Gate 13 and supporting additional entry points as needed. This role ensures compliance with ATC access policies, verifies visitor authorization, and maintains a secure, orderly flow of personnel and vehicles through the gate.

Key Responsibilities:

Open Gate 13 at 0530 and close at 1700; assist at other gates as required (Gates 10, 18, 24, 25, and Post 10).

Verify visitor authorization and control access using Visit Access Rosters.

Enforce ATC Access Policy, Guard Orders, and supplemental guidance.

Monitor and report conditions of gates, equipment, and guard facilities.

Support emergency personnel access and elevated security measures as directed.

Ensure safe and efficient vehicle and personnel movement through access points.

Report equipment malfunctions or incidents to ATC Security.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a security role or an Associate’s Degree in a security-related field.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

High attention to detail and ability to respond quickly in high-pressure situations.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks.

Prior experience in access control or similar security positions required.

Active Secret Clearance.
