The Software Architect is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of secure, scalable, and maintainable software systems that support mission-critical applications. This role provides Architectual direction across products and platforms, ensures technical alignment with enterprise goals, and partners with cross-functional teams to bring high-quality systems from concepts to production.
The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with strong engineering experience, Architectual depth, and a commitment to building platforms that meet security, performance, and usability standards in complex, secure environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture Design: Define technical architecture and design patterns across applications and systems.
- Ensure alignment with security, performance, and scalability requirements.
- System Integration: Design solutions that connect disparate systems, APIs, and services.
- Promote data flow efficiency, resilience, and consistency across components.
- Technical Leadership: Guide engineering teams on implementation decisions, refactoring, and optimization.
- Provide architectural oversight and code-level support as needed.
- Collaboration: Partner with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and DevOps teams.
- Ensure solutions are feasible, compliant, and support mission objectives.
- Documentation & Standards: Maintain architectural documentation, technical roadmaps, and best practices.
- Establish development guardrails and system-level design patterns.
- Innovation & Evaluation: Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and design methods.
- Support modernization efforts and continuous improvement across systems.

Security Clearance Requirements:
- An eligibility of Top-Secret is required for this position.
- The applicant may be subject to SCI eligibility requirements, including but not limited to a Full-Scope Polygraph.
- All applicants will undergo a security prescreening during the application process regardless of existing level of security clearance.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Citizenship Requirements: All applicants must be U.S. Citizens residing in the United States.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an architecture role.
- Flexible: Capable of managing architectural complexity and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent technical communication and diagramming skills.
- Organization: Able to prioritize long-term vision while solving immediate challenges.
- Mindset: Strategic, analytical, and passionate about creating robust and elegant software systems.
Technical expertise:
- Strong knowledge of architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven, layered)
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript)
- Experience with API design, service orchestration, and data modeling
- Familiarity with cloud-native design (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices
- Understanding of NIST, FedRAMP, and secure development standards
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to walk to various locations as needed.
- Ability to bend and navigate to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to lift light to moderate equipment as needed for job.
