Overview
LMI is seeking an experienced Space Data Network (SDN) Technical Lead in Colorado Springs, CO. The SDN Technical Lead supports the Space Warfighting Analysis Center's (SWAC) Spectrum Warfare Program (SWP) Director with modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks, as well as provides technical expertise and leadership to support studies, algorithm development, and other technical products and efforts as required to meet the Director's Intent. As the Technical Lead, drive results consistent with the Director's Intent by recommending and implementing study objectives through technical thought leadership. You will accomplish analytical tasks by using LMI's RAPTR ® modeling, simulation, and analysis capability.

Responsibilities
- Support the SWP Director and SDN Lead in a technical leadership capacity for planning, designing, executing, monitoring, and overseeing future space architectural development and acquisition studies that advance the United States Space Force (USSF) objective force.
- Serve as senior technical advisor to the Government customer, assisting in developing and reviewing annual organizational technical work plans and director's intent.
- Translate SWP's SDN Force Design technical analysis through collaboration with SWAC Programs, independent analysis, and development of integrated decision support products which articulate recommendations to meet joint warfighting needs.
- Operate as an individual contributor and collaborate with a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Operations Research Analysts, and Software Developers that leverage intellectual curiosity in direct support to the Government through lifecycle systems engineering, streamlined Agile approaches, and management processes to deliver critical space capabilities.
- Organize and lead analytic efforts across multiple simultaneous studies and/or tasked efforts.
- Support USSF decisions for resourcing, policy, and requirements development, acquisitions, and operational planning based on Force Design recommendations.
- Support transition of Force Design recommendations into USSF and joint Requirements documents, foster thorough joint approval process, and provide a technical basis for acquisition strategy development.
- Support development of SDN investment priorities and strategies based upon Force Design recommendations and integration into annual USSF Program Objective Memorandum (POM) budgets.
- Capture and recommend SDN force design dependencies and opportunities (joint, intelligence community, industry, international, and other government organizations).
- Frequently interact and develop productive relationships with program managers, SETAs, FFRDCs/UARCs, and external stakeholders.
- Review Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure content, technical accuracy, and sufficiency of design details to meet program requirements.
- Support risk management processes and methods for identifying, assessing, and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement mitigation approaches.
- Develop documents and briefings to communicate work status, briefs to government and industry as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 12+ years of professional experience or master's degree in a STEM field with 10+ years of professional experience.
- Significant background in space data networks, systems engineering, satellite communications, satellite systems & subsystems, advanced waveforms, science and technology, and program acquisition.
- Space domain experience and understanding in multiple areas of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, rendezvous and proximity operations; satellite communications; nuclear command, control, and communications (NC3), missile warning/missile defense; space-based positioning, navigation and timing; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; command and control; battle management; multi-domain effects; and space domain awareness.
- Able to work collaboratively across disciplines in a fast paced, dynamic, and small team environment.
- Strong organization and communication skills, verbal and written as well as strong time-management abilities.
- Experience with and knowledge of DoD, IC, and commercial organizations.
- Active TS with SCI eligibility required.
- US Citizenship required.

- Master's degree in systems engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience working in SCI/SAP environment (highly desired).
- Understanding of U.S. Government acquisition lifecycle, to include the budgetary process.
- Five (5) years of experience in USSF and NRO space systems is highly desired.
