Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Program Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals driving high quality program execution through their direct support and performance as a leader of the Tooling IPT team . The successful candidate will lead a multi-functional team within Air Vehicle and act as the Program manager overseeing Tooling concept development and deployment . The candidate's primary responsibilities will be managing execution of the program and to ensure that contractual, technical, affordability, and schedule requirements are met. The individual will lead a cross-functional organization aligned to common program performance goals. The candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, resourceful, self-starter able to work collaboratively with internal program teams, external customers and suppliers in high-tempo environments. They should be comfortable with applying analytical reasoning skills, managing change and impacts to change, identifying continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities and possess solid organizational abilities.

This role is located in Melbourne, FL. Due to the nature of the role, an on-site presence is required and cannot be performed remotely.

The position will follow our 9/80 schedule and allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community.
  • Developing new business opportunities through long term strategic planning, capture planning, and development of proposals and business plans.
  • Establishing a program organization that effectively addresses customer requirements and incorporates the necessary internal and external sub-organizations.
  • Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives.
  • Measuring and reporting program performance.
  • Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders.
  • Participating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions.
  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements.
  • Identifying, allocating, and managing program resources, including workforce planning
  • Establish milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Development and adherence to master plans and schedules.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to budget baselines including conduct of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodologies and tools, when required
  • Act as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Ensure adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
  • Managing suppliers to meet program objectives.
  • Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization.
  • Ensuring program team understands and adheres to contract scope, and manages change through control board activities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with teaming partners, functional organizations, and industry associations to help drive partnerships
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the customer, program management, business unit and supply base executives and functional management

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience as defined below.
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in: project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions
  • Prior CAM experience
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret Clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company


Preferred Qualifications:
  • STEM degree
  • Experience with Manufacturing Operations, Tooling, Automation, Transition to Production (TTP), and shop floor operations for complex weapon systems
  • Profit & Loss responsibility with demonstrated ability to achieve financial performance targets
  • Experience successfully leading teams on initiatives where little precedent exists and a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and competing tasks to ensure success
  • Deep knowledge of aircraft assembly, composites fabrication, production automation, digital mfg., specialty applications, and fabrication/assembly tooling processes
  • Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships
  • Demonstrated collaboration, communication, and team building skills
  • Experience executing defining, capturing, and executing capital projects
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $242,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
