Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Simulation Technician Scenario Generation (SGEN) and After Action Review System (AARS) Computer Systems Analyst 2 to join our Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Mission Training Complex (MTC) team on-base in Washington state.
This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and customer approval.

Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Responsibilities:
- Creates and modifies simulation scenarios government fielded hardware and software systems
- Researches needed data from archival sources, online sources, or consultation with exercise planners when data for scenario creation / modification is not readily available
- Conducts briefings with military and civilian personnel on scenario build timelines, data requirements, and status updates
- Constructs instructional material and conduct classes with military and / or civilian personnel on how to review scenario data content and provides appropriate input to aid in proper scenario preparation
- Performs installation of computer hardware and software necessary for scenario development
- Performs regular backups of software and scenario data
- Follows all applicable Information Assurance (IA) protocols defined by the Department of Defense (DoD) and our customer
- Maintains all applicable DoD security technical implementation guides (STIGs), operating system, and application patches for all systems under their responsibility
- Ensures that backups of critical data are done within the capabilities and specifications provided by the customer
- Maintains proficiency in the areas of systems administration, military simulations, and stimulation of military tactical systems
- Leverages a broad understanding in the application of technical principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of virtual simulation systems
- Works independently the majority of the time with minimum or no supervision
- Briefs leaders, visitors, and distinguished guests with system capabilities overview that showcase the capabilities of the systems and the ease of use
- Trains other operators and simulation technicians on scenario generation processes
- Develops unique scenarios and database-based simulation limitations and evolving mission requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- One of the following:
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity or Information Assurance (IA) experience
- Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity or IA with a minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of these fields
- Master's degree in CS, IT, Cybersecurity or IA
- DoD IAT level II (CompTIA Security+ CE)
- Must be able to successfully meet all training required of DoD computing environments for all supported systems within 6 months of hire
- Understanding of military unit hierarchy, tables of organization and equipment, unit identification codes, and unit / unique reference numbers
- Experience in the configuration and operation of Microsoft Windows (10 & higher) workstation and server and RedHat Enterprise Linux (versions 6 & Above) workstation and server operating systems in a TCP/IP network environment
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications
- Ability to work with little to no supervision on assigned tasks
- Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
- Must be able to work on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington
- Must be able to travel as needed (up to 10% of the time)
- Must be able to support shifts that occur outside normal working hours to support 24/7 operations during exercise events that may be more than 40 hours per week
- Must be able to frequently lift and move computer workstations and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to reposition above and below desks / tables to facilitate hookup of computer workstations and peripheral equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in creating simulation scenarios in Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC)
- Prior experience in the configuration and operation of JLCCTC hardware & software supporting US Army training exercises
