The Pax Flying Qualities and Performance disciplines support flight testing at Patuxent River Naval Air Station on the F-35B and F-35C aircraft. This includes providing real time control room monitoring support of flight science parameters on the F-35B and F-35C flight test aircraft, conducting pre-flight predictions and post flight data requests, supporting flight test anomaly resolution, and correlation of measured flight test data with modeled predictions. Flying qualities and performance disciplines cover aircraft stability and control, handling qualities, onboard model control law aircraft control, and mission efficiency.

The Pax F-35 Flying Qualities and Performance (FQ & Perf) Associate Manager will provide technical and management supervision of 7-15 direct reports. The FQ & Perf Associate manager is expected to maintain currency for real-time control room monitoring and support as needed. The F-35 FQ & Perf Associate Manager will assist with development and ensure adherence to processes, plans, and procedures necessary to provide timely, accurate, and focused engineering support. The applicant will maintain technical coordination with the FQ and Perf discipline team leads.

The FQ & Perf Associate Manager will be frequently required to attend briefings with the customer and represent LM. They will perform employee personnel matters such as; performance evaluations, merit, rankings, employee recognition, and coordinate with functional organizations.

Occasional business travel is expected. Flight test support is a flex schedule and may require support on Fri/Sat/Sun.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience as real-time discipline monitor for aircraft flying qualities and/or performance flight test.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with F-35 flying qualities and/or performance analysis methods.
F-35 flying qualities and/or performance flight test experience.

Good written and verbal skills are required.

MATLAB, VBA, or Python proficiency

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
