What will I be doing? You will be supporting the Air Force Operational Medicine Information Systems (AFOMIS) Program Office efforts in providing health-related Information Management/ Information Technology (IM/IT) services support to deployed Airmen and collocated personnel. The support includes Medical Expeditionary Systems (MEDXS), medical waivers workflow management, Expeditionary Health Data Store (EHDS), medical analytics dashboards, integrated IM/IT testing capability, medical operations; expeditionary deployment operations and installation contingency response; planning; training; and readiness support functions. In this role, you will:
  • Lead NOSC operations, develop network strategies, supervise configuration management, and mentor team member
  • Administer and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls, to support MEDXS and AFOMIS OpMed IM/IT systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and data access
  • Assist in integrating MEDXS systems with DoD enterprise networks, ensuring compatibility and interoperability across CONUS/OCONUS locations
  • Provide rapid incident response to network outages, performance issues, or security breaches, ensuring minimal disruption to MEDXS operations
  • Offer on-call support to address critical network issues, ensuring 24x7x365 availability of MEDXS and AFOMIS OpMed systems
  • Support MEDXS implementation, integrate patches, monitor licensing, and assist with automated testing.
  • Coordinate with developers, system administrators and engineers.
  • Perform network audits, transaction logging, and recovery operations to maintain data integrity and restore services after incidents
  • Diagnose and resolve network-related problems, including connectivity, latency, or hardware failures, across garrison, theater, and remote environments
  • Document and manage network configurations, ensuring consistency and compliance with DoD standards, and update configuration baselines as needed
  • Implement and maintain DoD standard server and workstation baseline images for network devices, ensuring compliance with DoD configuration standards
  • Continuously monitor the performance, availability, and uptime of MEDXS network infrastructure to ensure 24x7x365 operational readiness in garrison, theater, and remote environments

What experience, training, and education do I need?

You mustmeet theminimumrequirements:
  • Active Secret clearance
  • 5+ years network administration and remote application support experience for TMIP or similar operational systems at deployed locations.
  • BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution OR at least one of the following certifications:
    • CEH or Cloud+ or GCIH or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC
    • IAW DoDD 8140 applicable military training is acceptable in lieu of degree and/or certification
  • Proficiency in implementing and maintaining DoD standard server and workstation baseline images for network devices, ensuring compliance with configuration standards
  • Experience with FedRAMP-approved cloud platforms or DoD Cloud to manage hybrid network environments.
  • Expertise in maintaining network configuration baselines and conducting quarterly audits to ensure compliance
  • Familiarity with medical IT systems
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements to protect PHI
  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms for network infrastructure support
  • Mastery of network monitoring tools
  • Expertise in configuring and managing enterprise network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, load balancers) to support MEDXS and AFOMIS OpMed systems
