Job Overview:

We are seeking highly skilled Information Systems Security Officers (ISSO) to provide comprehensive cybersecurity and information assurance support for DoD systems. This role is critical in ensuring systems remain compliant with DoD and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards and meet all information assurance (IA) and cybersecurity requirements. This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and implement information security protocols for various applications in accordance with DoD/NIST RMF standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to contractor staff on security measures and threat mitigation.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate IA and cybersecurity solutions for networks, systems, and multi-enclave environments with differing data protection/classification requirements.
  • Monitor system security posture and provide continuous risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Perform or review technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance issues.
  • Recommend and implement mitigation strategies to improve security posture.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of threat models and attack scenarios.
  • Prepare and deliver technical security reports, analysis, and briefings to stakeholders.
  • Validate system security requirements, participate in architecture analysis, and develop security designs for new and existing systems.
  • Ensure full implementation of the RMF process across all assigned program systems and networks.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of cybersecurity experience, including at least one (1) year within the Department of Defense (DoD)

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Clearance : Active Secret Clearance

Required Certifications

Candidates must hold one or more of the following certifications (or equivalent):
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)


Preferred Skills:
  • Deep understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies and compliance requirements
  • Experience with RMF implementation from categorization through continuous monitoring
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical issues to non-technical audiences
