Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions (AWS, Azure) aligned with DoD standards.
- Plan and execute cloud migration and integration strategies for enterprise systems.
- Define and implement cloud security architectures in compliance with DoD cloud computing policies.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies and services to meet mission-critical requirements.
- Develop and test cloud-based and virtualized systems to support operational excellence.
- Provide systems engineering support across the full development lifecycle.
- Conduct detailed analysis and trade studies to drive decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders on cloud strategy and innovation.
- Support configuration and change management processes in partnership with government clients.
- Provide after-hours and emergency support as needed for mission operations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud architecture or systems engineering.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
- IAT Level III Certification (e.g., CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH).
- Cloud/Virtualization CE Certification (Azure preferred; AWS, Oracle, IBM also acceptable).
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based solutions.
- Strong skills in Active Directory, Azure AD, and cloud identity management.
- Solid command-line and administrative experience with RHEL and Windows Server environments.
- Expertise in AWS cloud services, networking, VPNs, IaaS, PaaS, and security tools (e.g., GuardDuty, WAF).
- Hands-on experience with Git, YAML, CloudFormation, and scripting (PowerShell/Bash).
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and VDI technologies (e.g., AWS Workspaces).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles.
- Strong troubleshooting and automation skills, including writing SSM documents and EC2 Image Builder pipelines.
- Master's degree in a technical discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in cloud and systems engineering.
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
- AWS Solutions Architect - Professional certification.
- ITIL v4 Foundations certification.
- Experience with:
- CI/CD tools and DevOps practices (GitLab CI, Artifactory, etc.).
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, Fargate).
- AWS networking (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs).
- DNS management in GovCloud using Route 53; familiarity with DISA Iodyn.
- Network appliances (Palo Alto NGFW, Juniper vSRX, F5 Big-IP).
- RHEL 8/9 and Windows Server 2019/2022 in enterprise environments.
