RHEL ANSIBLE ENGINEER - SENIOR - SECRET CLEARANCE

Seeking a RHEL Ansible Engineer to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF)
Enterprise IT as a Service (EITaaS) program. The candidate will join a team of engineers responsible for the
configuration, management, and advanced troubleshooting of RHEL related issues in the SIPR environment. On the EITaaS program, we will deliver enhanced capabilities and services to implement and operate an enterprise ITSM solution, enterprise service desk, endpoint management and security solution, as well as CONUS/OCONUS field support and life cycle support for end user devices to enable the DAF to transition focus from IT operations to mission operations.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an engineer to configure, manage, and troubleshoot issues related to the RHEL servers and to be the Linux SSO Lead for integration of RHEL into active directory. The ideal candidate will be a Linux Systems Expert in Image management, Ansible Management Suites, RMF compliance controls implementation with SELinux, and hardening best practices within DoD. In this role, you will regularly collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to properly identify issues, document processes, and test resolutions.
More About The Role:
• Configure, manage, and maintain RHEL systems in various environments (physical, virtual, cloud).
• High level troubleshooting of common applications and their interactions with the underlying
operating systems.
• Act as an escalation point for advanced troubleshooting of supported servers.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of storage systems and backup solutions.
• Collaborate with DAF enterprise and program security teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
Required Qualifications:
• 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5
years of experience).
• Must have DoD Secret clearance, with experience working in a classified environment.
• DoD 8140 compliance; Security + certification at a minimum.
• Strong Ansible and RHEL Admin. skills.
• Experience testing, deploying, and troubleshooting the installation of RHEL and third-party software
updates.
• Demonstrated experience with planning, configuring, deploying, and implementing automated
software and firmware patching, such as WSUS, SCCM, YUM, SolarWinds, etc. for heterogeneous
operating systems environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows and Linux).
• Proficiency in RHEL installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Strong command-line skills and scripting abilities (Bash, Python).
• Knowledge of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.).
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
• Experience managing RHEL servers in a DoD environment.
• Experience working in a secure location managing devices on a SIPR network.
• Experience with RMF and STIG requirements.
• Experience with ITILv4.
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Strong skills with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with ServiceNow.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with database administration.
